Day 292 (1-22-11)-Um, That's Sad.

I was typing in the title and I was like, "What's the date?" and I was thinking like, the 15th. It's the 22nd...Yeah...Wow am I kinda off. (And the audience screams, "faaail.")

So today was interesting to say the very berry least.

I woke up early. Interesting point number ONE. that's definitely something you see once every two moons. I very rarely get up voluntarily on a weekend.

I ate pancakes. That's ho hum. Not too unordinary. It was delicious. And so were the eggs.

Anyways. I then got picked up by a friend, and we headed over to the place where we practice for Youth Symphony! Nice car ride. I was semi-freaking out, but not too much. I'm sure it'll be worse next week. Anyways, there weren't a whole lot of people there 'cause everyone was out taking the SAT's. (That's half a point for my 'interesting' day. I wasn't aiming at keeping score, but apparently I now am.) So that made my first day easier, what with half the people gone.

I was. The. Only. Flute. There. And ten points for the interesting day tally! (Slight Harry Potter reference there.) I mean, there weren't a whole lot of flutes to begin with (I'm saying, three?) and everyone was gone. Even the clarinets, the next closest things! I was utterly on my own, and I was NEW. Thankfully I had the help of the manager in charge of the symphony, and slight help from the conductor, who was pretty nice, and also encouraging "haha you fail" looks from my friends. Two more interesting points.

And, for the record here, I SUCK at sight-reading. I don't know about the rest of you musically inclined people, but I am terrible on the spot. So that was not the best first rehearsal. But it wasn't terrible. Oh, not at all. It was actually really nice. I had tons of fun. I hope next week I'll be slightly better off. 'Cause that's when I audition, since I wasn't aware that I had to bring my own music for that. (Communication error.)

Afterwards, I came home, ate out for lunch, went to the mall to check out cell phones, came home, looked at phones online, ate dinner, looked at more phones online, sporadically practiced some music (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN) and now I plan on showering and playing a lent Nancy Drew game with my sister. :) Sibling bonding time! :P

All in all, a great day!
I definitely need to try waking up early more often!
